Patient FAQs

What are dental crowns?

A dental crown is a prosthetic replacement for teeth that have lost shape, size, form and functions. It provides both aesthetic and functional resemblance to your natural dentition by covering the natural teeth and protecting it in the future.

What is the procedure for a dental crown?

The dental crown placement is scheduled over 2 visits. The first visit involves shaping of the teeth to receive the crown and recording the measurement of the teeth. In the second visit, usually within 4-5 days of the first visit, the crown is placed on the tooth.. We provide single day crown delivery service for full ceramic CAD/CAM crowns.

Are dental crowns the right choice for you?

  • If you have teeth that are worn down, root canal treated, hyper-sensitive, teeth with gaps or missing, a dental crown may be the right choice to restore normal dentition and chewing habits.
  • Dental Crowns can be made of different materials, Metal-ceramic or Full Ceramic (Zirconia or E.max).

When can I travel after getting a dental crown placed?

Travel can be advised as early as immediately after cementation, which is completed at the second session of the procedure.

Will it be painful?

Shaping of the tooth is done under local anesthetic, if required, to ensure patient comfort and minimize pain

Can I eat with it normally?

Yes. The dental crown closely resembles the functionality of the original tooth and enables normal eating habits.

Will the crown look the same?

Yes. Dental crowns are fabricated to shape, size and colour of your natural teeth in mind.
